On how practice went today
It was a real good practice, very similar to how our normal Monday practices go during the regular course of a season. I was pleased.

On physical practices during bowl preparation
We went at it pretty good yesterday with a physical practice and today was pretty similar.

On the group of seniors playing their final game as a Sooner
I don’t think this game is any different than preparing for a Big 12 championship. These guys practice the same way every time out and they’ve gotten after it getting ready for this game. I’ve been very pleased with their preparation all year. I don’t see it any different than any other game though. I’ve been excited on how they’ve prepared all season.

On the secondary
It is fine. Those guys have played all year and practiced all year. We have some very capable guys stepping in there.

On starting QB Sam Bradford
I don’t know you could say that we all expected Sam to do what he has done, but we knew he was capable and thought he would do well. Not only has he done well, but he has been exceptional. The guy has played as well as any quarterback in the country.

On getting back into a starting role
I worked hard all season and there are some mixed emotions. I was disappointed when I lost my starting job, mainly at myself. I just tried to keep my attitude positive and focused on competing hard. You never want to wish anything bad on a teammate, but I always have the attitude that if anything were to happen, I will step in there and not have anything drop off. Just stay the same and be consistent out on the field.

On the secondary
It’s the same secondary.We add stuff every week for every opponent, so you just have to adapt to those changes.

On playing West Virginia
They are going to run the ball a lot and we know that. They average over 300 yards a game and we know what they are capable of.

On the team’s seniors preparing for a final game
I can sense they have a little more urgency, but it is pretty much the same all season.

On being pumped up for the Fiesta Bowl
We have been excited for this game ever since the night of the Big 12 Championship game when the Fiesta Bowl guys came into the lockeroom and told us we were going to play West Virginia. We were pumped up ever since that night and are happy to be here. I think this could be statement for us and could show everyone that is saying that it is the last BCS game. We are going to make sure we come out fully prepared.

On becoming a consensus All-American
At first, to be honest, I had no idea what that even meant. But then a lot of my teammates came up to me and explained what a great honor it is. It is great, especially being in the ranks of all the great Oklahoma players that have won that award in the past.

On how offensive lineman are evaluated on becoming an All-American
I think I was evaluated on my technique, physical play and mental approach to the game. How smart I am with identifying the defense. I don’t know what made them chose me over anyone else, but I just came to play every game and dominate the person that lined up in front of me.

On the secondary
Dominique (Franks) and Darien (Williams) have both been out there taking reps and doing a good job. It is one of those things where the more reps you take, the better you get and the more comfortable you get. They are soaking it up pretty good right now. I try to communicate with them as much as possible, trying to identify the different sets and formations that will come at us. Just making sure we are all on the same page. Preparation can be a good substitute for experience. There is something to it where if you prepare for something to happen, and you see it in a game, you can make that play.

On the West Virginia offense
They run a lot of different things at you, but you prepare for that. We are preparing for what they could do on third and four, or third and five. It gets you prepared if you recognize the down and distance.
