NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma's Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray have been named ESPN the Magazine second-team Academic All-Americans. The announcement was made Wednesday.

Bradford, a sophomore from Oklahoma City, carries a 3.95 grade point average in Finance. Murray, a sophomore from Las Vegas, carries a 3.31 grade point average in communications.

Not only have the two excelled academically, but they have been two of the most prolific two-year players in Oklahoma history.

Bradford has already broken the NCAA record for most touchdown passes through a freshman/sophomore season. His 78 easily out-distance the previous mark of 55 by Rex Grossman.

Murray has scored 32 touchdowns in his career, the most ever in the first two seasons for a Sooner. The old mark of 29 was set by Adrian Peterson.

To be eligible for the Academic All-America team, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his sports information director.
