Oklahoma has the most weeks at No. 1 in both the AP Poll and BCS standings.
NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma moved up to No. 8 in the latest BCS standings released Sunday night. The Sooners were No. 7 in the latest Coaches Poll, No. 7 in the Harris Poll and No. 8 in the AP Poll after defeating Kansas, 52-7, Saturday night in Norman to improve to 5-1 on the season.
Since the introduction of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) in 1998, Oklahoma has been ranked more weeks at No. 1, in the Top 5 and in the Top 10 than any other program in college football.
This marks the 537th week the Sooners have been in the Top-10 of the AP Poll, more times than any team. OU also has the most weeks at No. 1, in the Top 2 and in the Top 5.
Oklahoma hosts undefeated and No. 5 Notre Dame (7-0) at Owen Field next Saturday. The game will kick at 7 p.m. with ESPN's College Gameday on site and a national television audience looking on courtesy ABC. It will be the first visit to Norman for the Fighting Irish since 1966.

The BCS rankings are determined by three components: the Harris Interactive poll, the USA Today coaches poll and the average of six computer rankings. Each component counts one-third toward a team's BCS score.
The six computer rankings are
Anderson & Hester,
Richard Billingsley,
Colley Matrix,
Kenneth Massey,
Jeff Sagarin and
Peter Wolfe. Each accounts for schedule strength in its formula. The highest and lowest ranking for each team is dropped, and the remaining four are added and divided by 100 (the maximum possible points) to produce a computer rankings percentage.
