Sooners rise to a tie with Wisconsin for No. 5 in the latest AP poll.
NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma, fresh off a 79-10 victory in the season opener
against North Texas, rose to No. 5 in the latest AP
poll released Tuesday. The Sooners are tied with Wisconsin
with 1,275 points. OU is No. 6 in the Coaches' Poll.
Texas (No. 7), Nebraska (No. 16) and Texas A&M (No.
23) joined the Sooners from the Big 12 Conference in
the rankings. Miami, Oklahoma's opponent on Saturday,
was No. 28 based on votes by the pollsters.
