NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and offensive tackle Trent Williams are on the watch list for the Outland Trophy, which is presented annually to the top lineman in college football.

McCoy was named a first team All-American after last season by The Sporting news. He started all 14 games and finished the campaign with 30 tackles, 11 for loss, 6.5 sacks and one pass interception.

A junior from Oklahoma City, McCoy has started all 27 games of his college career.

Williams, a senior from Longview, Texas, was first team All-Big 12 last year by the conference's coaches. He started all 14 games last season, 13 at right tackle and one at left tackle, the position he will play this season.

In 2008, he logged 131 knockdowns and saw action for 943 snaps.

The Outland Trophy, presented annually since 1946, is the third-oldest award in major college football. The winner of the Outland Trophy, named after the late John Outland, an All-America lineman at Penn and Kansas at the turn of the century, will be announced on the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show on Dec. 10 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The Outland Trophy presentation banquet, sponsored by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee, will be held on Jan. 14 in Omaha, Neb.

Oklahoma players have captured the Outland five times since 1951, when Jim Weatherall was the school's first winner. J.D. Roberts won the trophy in 1963, followed by Lee Roy Selmon in 1975, Greg Roberts in 1978 and Jammal Brown in 2004.
