OU No. 3 in Preseason Coaches' Poll

Sooners open season against No. 24 BYU in Arlington on September 5.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma will enter the 2009 season ranked No. 3 in the USA Today Top 25 Coaches' Poll released Friday. The Sooners were one of four teams with at least one first-place vote (Florida, Texas and Southern Cal).
 
USA Today's synopsis on the Sooners: "Last year's BCS runner-up returns Heisman Trophy QB Sam Bradford along with TE Jermaine Gresham, OL Trent Williams, RB DeMarco Murray, DTs Gerald McCoy and DeMarcus Granger and LB Travis Lewis. Oct. 17 battle with Texas again figures to be pivotal."
 
Oklahoma opens the 2009 season against No. 24 BYU in Arlington, Texas, at the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium on Saturday, Sept. 5. ESPN will televise the game to the nation with kickoff slated for 6 p.m. Central.
