NORMAN, Okla -- The Big 12 Conference announced on Friday that kickoff time for the University of Oklahoma home football opener vs. Florida A&M has been scheduled for 6 p.m. CT at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 8.
 
The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the Sooners and the Rattlers. Oklahoma has won its initial game of the season in Norman each of the past six years.
 
Dating back to the start of the 2006 campaign, the Sooners own a 36-1 (.973) home record. Among FBS teams, only Boise State at 37-1 (.974) has better home winning percentage over that span.
 
Oklahoma begins the 2012 season at UTEP with kickoff set for 9:30 p.m. CT/8:30 p.m. MT in El Paso, Texas.
