Red/White football game is this Saturday.
NORMAN, Okla. -
The Oklahoma football program has set the scoring system and squad breakdown for Saturday's Red/White Spring Game. The contest will kick off at 1 p.m., at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
Tickets for the event are on sale now and are $5 if purchased before game day. On Saturday, that price doubles to $10.
Fans may purchase tickets online, in person at the OU Athletics Ticket Office or by phone at (405) 325-2424 or toll-free at (800) 456-GoOU. Children 5 and under are admitted free of charge, as are all OU students with a valid student ID.
The offense will wear red during the game and the defense will be in white, but teams are still being set. One team will feature the first-team offense and the second-team defense, while the other will be comprised of the first-team defense and second-team offense.
In the scoring system that has been devised both the offensive and defensive units will have the ability to score. The offense will receive one point for a first down, one point for a point after touchdown, two points for any play exceeding 30 yards, three points for a field goal and six points for a touchdown.
The defense will be awarded one point for any stop, two points for holding the offense to three plays and a punt on the first set of downs in a possession, two points for a fourth-down stop, three points for a turnover and nine points for a touchdown. The clock will be set for four, 15-minute quarters. Printable Scoring Guide (PDF)
