McNamara, Metoyer, Everett, Green, Nelson and Wade join Sooners in Norman.
NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma football roster expanded Friday with the additions of early enrollee Taylor McNamara and 2011 signee Trey Metoyer. The two join previously announced junior college transfers Kass Everett, Brannon Green and Chaz Nelson along with 2011 signee Jordan Wade on campus for the spring semester.
McNamara, a tight end out of Westview High School in San Diego, recently played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and is a four-star recruit by ESPN.com and Rivals.com. He is ranked as the No. 2 tight end nationally by Rivals.com and is listed as the No. 15 player in the state of California by the same outlet. McNamara had 33 receptions for 526 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior.
Metoyer was a member of the 2011 Oklahoma signing class and spent last semester at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va. The wide receiver was named a five-star recruit by Rivals.com and Scout.com in 2011 and was ranked the No. 2 wide receiver in the nation by Rivals.com.
A native of Whitehouse, Texas, Metoyer finished his high school career with 259 receptions, the second-best total in Texas high school football history. His senior year he hauled in 87 receptions for 1,304 yards and 21 touchdowns, his third straight year with at least 15 receiving touchdowns.
While at Pierce College in Los Angeles, Everett earned first team Southern California Football Association honors in 2011 as a defensive back. The Philadelphia native played in seven games and compiled 25 tackles, three tackles for loss, five passes broken up and one fumble recovery. Everett spent his high school days playing for Roman Catholic Cahillite in Philadelphia where he rushed for over 1,500 yards as a senior, eclipsing the 200-yard mark in four different games.
A highly-respected run blocking tight end from Fort Scott Community College, Green was named to the All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference second team in 2011 after finishing the season with 15 receptions for 213 yards in eight games. As a freshman, he had seven receptions for 68 yards and two touchdowns. The Altamont, Kan., native was selected to play in the 2010 Kansas Shrine Bowl after finishing his high school career.
Nelson, a Garden City Community College product, was recently named a NJCAA first team All-American and was also named the 2011 Jayhawk Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Nelson had 96 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, forced four fumbles, broke up four passes and returned an interception for a touchdown for the Broncbusters. He hit double digits in the tackle column in six games this season. Prior to spent his high school playing career at Beechcroft High School in Columbus, Ohio.
Wade, a member of the 2011 signing class, was the No. 8 defensive tackle in 2011 according to ESPN.com. The Stony Point High School product from Round Rock, Texas was a four-star recruit by ESPN.com, Scout.com and Rivals.com and had 40 tackles and five sacks in the 2010 playing on the same defense as current Sooner P.L. Lindley. As a junior, Wade had 77 tackles, 14 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and six pass breakups.
