Aaron Colvin to Return for Senior Season

Coach Stoops confirms All-Big 12 First Team pick to return in 2013 for Oklahoma.

Aaron ColvinNORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops confirmed Monday that cornerback Aaron Colvin will return for his senior season in 2013.

"I am pleased that Aaron has come to this decision and I believe it's the right one for him," Stoops said. "I believe he has an opportunity to become one of the premier defensive players in the Big 12 and in the country. Hopefully, he will continue to work hard to reach that potential and help us achieve our team's goals."

An All-Big 12 First Team selection by AP and the coaches in 2012, Colvin led the team with 11 pass breakups, finished second on the squad with four interceptions and was third on the team with 61 tackles (47 solo).

"I still have unfinished business at Oklahoma," Colvin said. "I'm excited for the opportunity to be back on the field with my teammates in 2013. There are team and individual goals that I'd still like to accomplish at OU."

The Owasso, Okla., native has played in 39 career games (26 starts) with the Sooners. He opened all 13 games at cornerback for OU in 2012 after starting 12 games at safety in 2011. He owns 179 career tackles (126 solo), 10.0 tackles for loss, four interceptions, 2.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and 20 pass breakups.
