Wolfe Bound for Senior Bowl

Sooner safety will play in January 26 game

Jan. 10, 2008

NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma safety D.J. Wolfe has been selected to play in this year's Under Armour Senior Bowl. The game will be played Jan. 26 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

The contest will kickoff at 3 p.m., and be televised on the NFL Network.

Wolfe, a Lawton, Okla., product, began his Sooner career at running back before moving to cornerback as a sophomore. Prior to his senior campaign, he moved to strong safety and found a home.

Wolfe started all 14 games in 2007 when the Sooners were 11-3 with the Big 12 Championship. He ranked No. 3 on the team and No. 1 among the defensive backs with 87 tackles. He also topped the team with four interceptions, which he returned an average of 19.0 yards, and two fumble recoveries.

Two of his interceptions came at Colorado, while his tackle best of 12 was logged against Texas A&M.

Wolfe is one of five OU players currently slated for a post-season all-star game. Joe Jon Finley, Garrett Hartley, Allen Patrick and Marcus Walker will compete in the East-West Shrine Game.
