All-Big 12 Second Team (Associated Press), All-Big 12 Honorable Mention (Big 12 Coaches) ... emerged as one of the top cover corners in the country ... logged a season-high nine tackles, including seven solo, at Nebraska ... had at least three tackles in 11 of the 12 regular season games ... had eight stops against Texas ... returned an interception 47 yards for a touchdown in the opener against North Carolina.

2000:
Big 12 Conference Defensive Newcomer of the Year (Associated Press), Freshman All-America (The Sporting News), All-Big 12 Third Team (Big 12 Coaches) ... started every game at right corner and finished his first season fourth in total tackles with 62 ... had 38 unassisted tackles ... also recorded five tackles for loss, two sacks and 15 pass deflections ... second most deflections on the squad and fourth most for an OU defensive back in a single season ... one of his biggest deflections came late in the Oklahoma State game when he broke up a pass in the end zone on fourth and goal ... secured the OU win ... had another huge breakup in the Orange Bowl against Florida State ... deflected a possible touchdown pass in the fourth quarter with a perfectly timed jump ... also had five tackles in the game ... had a pair of interceptions, including a third quarter pick against Nebraska which he returned 32 yards for a touchdown ... one of five Sooners to return an interception for a TD ... recorded a career-high 10 tackles against Texas ... had eight unassisted tackles in that contest ... posted five tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack a week later at Kansas State ... also had seven tackles and an interception in the final home game of the year against Texas Tech.
