All-Big 12 Academic First Team ... started 10 of the regular season games - the first six and the last four (did not play against Baylor and came off the bench at Nebraska) and got the nod for the SBC Cotton Bowl Classic ... set a Cotton Bowl mark with 24 completions, surpassing the previous best of 21 by both Roger Staubach (Navy) and Steve Sarkisian (BYU) … cracked the Sooner record book for a season with 222 completions (No. 5), 380 attempts (No. 3), a .584 completion percentage (No. 5), 14 touchdown passes (No. 3), 2,234 passing yards (No. 3) and 2,280 yards of total offense (No. 4) … enjoyed the No. 8 and No. 9 passing days in school history with 350 yards against North Texas and 347 against Tulsa, and had the No. 5 and No. 6 total offense games with 362 against North Texas and 362 against Tulsa … played particularly well in back-to-back wins over Texas A&M and Texas Tech when he completed a combined 59-of-89 passes for 487 yards and five touchdowns with three interceptions … had at least one completion of 25 or more yards in nine games … finished with positive rushing yardage in nine games ... won the football team’s scholar award.

2000:
Only quarterback other than Josh Heupel to throw a pass during the season ... completed 9-of-16 passes (.562) for 144 yards and two touchdowns ... most of his action came in the second half of the Sooners' win at Baylor ... hit 4-of-9 passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns ... named to the Academic All-Big 12 first-team.

1999:
Arrived in Norman during the summer and was forced to sit out due to NCAA transfer rules … showed off his strong arm as a valuable member of the scout team … selected as the Co-Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year by the coaches … shared the honor with Jarvis Smith.

Georgia:
Redshirted his one season in Athens ... played in the spring game, completing 17-of-42 passes for 255 yards and one TD.

High school:
Graduated early to attend Georgia in the spring semester of '98 … coached by his father, Tom ... threw for more than 3,600 yards and 38 touchdowns during his career … also saw time at free safety, punter and placekicker … made 102-of-107 PATs during his career and posted a 39.6-yard punting average … other honors included All-State first-team by the Atlanta Constitution and the Georgia Sports Writers Association.
