Jimbo Elrod, DE - 1975
Jimbo Elrod earned consensus All-America honors in 1975. Elrod's 44 tackles for loss leads the career list at OU. But this is just a small indication of his big-play ability. Against Texas, Elrod blindsided Earl Campbell, forcing a fumble that killed a Longhorn drive and set up OU's game-winning field goal.
His fast, reckless style was unequaled and brought on forced fumbles, blocked punts and quarterback sacks.
He was drafted in the fifth round by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1976.
