The Sooners racked up 668 total yards against
North Texas, the 11th highest total in school history
and the most in an OU season opener. The last time
an OU team recorded more than 600 yards of total offense
was against Texas A&M (639) in 2003.
OU's 403 passing yards marked the fifth
highest total in team history.
The Sooners held the Mean Green to 15 yards
rushing, the ninth-lowest total allowed under Bob Stoops.
Oklahoma's 482 first half yards were
the third most by any Sooner team in a single half.
OU rolled up 507 yards against Missouri in 1986 and
486 versus Colorado in 1980.
OU's 49 first half points tied for
the third-highest total in a single half in school
history. The record for points in a half is 55 versus
Kansas State in 1942 (second half).
OU's 247 first quarter yards (105 rush,
142 pass) were the most ever in a season opener. The
total also marked OU's fourth-highest first quarter
total and ninth-best in any quarter.
OU had six sacks tonight by six different
players, the most sacks in a game since the 2005 Nebraska
game. The Sooners were also credited with 74 yards
in tackles for loss by nine different. The 74-yard
total is the fourth best in school history.
Junior WR Malcolm Kelly's 65-yard touchdown
catch in the second quarter was the second-longest
scoring play of his career. Kelly caught a 66-yarder
against Nebraska in the 2006 Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship
Game. The longest play of Kelly's career is a
73-yard grab against Middle Tennessee last season.
Kelly (4-118) and Juaquin Iglesias (7-128)
combined for 246 of the Sooners' 403 receiving
yards. It marked just the fourth time in school history
OU has had two 100-yard receivers in a game and the
second time under Bob Stoops.

SAM BRADFORD
Bradford's passing efficiency rating of
266.92 was the second-highest ever for a Sooner. Jason
White was 16-18 for 263 yards, 5 TD and no INT for
a 303.29 rating against Texas A&M in 2003.
With 350 yards in the first half, Bradford
set an OU record for passing yards in a half. The previous
record was held by Josh Heupel who threw for 313 in
the first half against Baylor in 2000.
Bradford's 20 first half completions
were the sixth most in a single half by an OU QB. The
record of 25 is shared by Heupel, who completed 25
in the first half against Texas A&M in 1999, and
Nate Hybl who did it against Tulsa in 2001.
Bradford finished with 363 yards passing,
the highest total for a Sooner QB in his OU debut.
The previous record was 353 set by Josh Heupel against
Indiana State in 1999.

JUAQUIN IGLESIAS
Iglesias took a lateral pass 41 yards on the
second play from scrimmage. The run was the longest
by a Sooner wideout since Travis Wilson scored on a
56-yard scamper against UCLA in 2005.
Iglesias finished with three catches for
80 yards in the first quarter, the best receiving start
in a season opener in OU history. The previous mark
was held by Eddie Hinton who had a 72-yard first quarter
TD reception against Notre Dame in 1968.

DEMARCO MURRAY
On just the third carry of his OU career, Murray
went 44 yards for a touchdown. It was the longest touchdown
run by a Sooner in a season opener since Jerald Moore
went 52 yards against San Diego State in 1995.
Murray became the first Sooner to record
five scores in his OU debut. The previous record was
shared by QB Charles Thompson (3 vs. North Texas, 1987)
and Renaldo Works (3 vs. UTEP, 2000). Murray had four
TDs in the first half against UNT.
Only four other OU players have scored five
or more touchdowns in a game. Quentin Griffin owns
the record with six against Texas in 2000. The others,
in addition to Murray, are Steve Owens (5 vs. Nebraska,
1968), Jerald Moore (5 vs. Oklahoma State, 1994) and
Kejuan Jones (5 vs. Texas Tech, 2003).
