Postgame Notes

Houston 100, OU 93

• Oklahoma squandered leads of 41-23 and 63-53 in a 100-93 loss to Houston Thursday night in the second round of the Great Alaska Shootout.

• Houston scored 77 points over the game's final 26 minutes.

• The Sooners posted season-high marks of .536 from the field and .423 from 3-point range (11-for-26), and also shot .815 from the free throw line (22-for-27).  They turned the ball over 18 times, however, while Houston committed just seven turnovers.  Houston also grabbed 17 offensive rebounds to OU's 11.

• The Cougars shot .583 from the field in the second half and made six of their 10 3-point attempts.

• Willie Warren was 8-for-11 from the field and paced the Sooners with 25 points and seven assists.

• Warren is averaging 27.5 points and 5.0 assists through two Great Alaska Shootout contests.  He is 20-for-21 from the free throw line in the tournament.

• Steven Pledger made his first career start and promptly scored 20 points in the first half with the help of five 3-point makes.  The freshman finished the game 6-for-14 from 3-point range and scored a career-high 23 points.

• Also making their first starts this season were Orlando Allen (four rebounds and three blocks in 14 minutes) and Cade Davis (11 points and four boards in 29 minutes).  It was Allen's first career start.

• Tony Crocker scored eight points and pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds in 39 minutes.  He added three assists and two steals.

• Tiny Gallon and Tommy Mason-Griffin came off the bench for the first time this season.  Gallon recorded 15 points (on 6-for-8 shooting) and nine rebounds in 22 minutes, while Mason-Griffin finished with 11 points and five assists in 26 minutes.

• The Sooners' loss was their third straight.  The last time OU lost three straight non-conference games was during the 1995-96 season (began 1-3 under Kelvin Sampson).
