NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Freshman Blake Griffin notched his third double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Oklahoma to a 74-42 win against Morehead State on Wednesday night.

Griffin started a 21-2 second-half run with a two-handed jam off an alley oop from Austin Johnson, and Morehead State (1-3) managed only one field goal in the next 10 minutes.

Griffin had eight points in the spurt, including another two-handed dunk off an offensive rebound, and the Sooners led 55-30 after Cade Davis' two free throws with 9:50 remaining.

Tony Crocker added four 3-pointers and 14 points, Omar Leary scored 13 and Longar Longar had 10 points and eight rebounds for the Sooners in coach Jeff Capel's 100th career win. Capel was 79-41 at Virginia Commonwealth and is 21-15 at Oklahoma (5-1).

Maze Stallworth scored 10 before fouling out to lead Morehead State, and Leon Buchanan was limited to six points in his first game since scoring 35 in a 86-70 loss to Bowling Green four days earlier.

The low point for the Eagles came on a fast break after they'd committed turnovers on back-to-back possessions during the Sooners' big run. Jamyron Steward got behind the defense on an inbounds play before missing a layup, Les Simmons clanked a reverse dunk off the rim and Kenneth Faried's third-chance putback also was off the mark.

The rest of the game wasn't much prettier.

Morehead State shot 30 percent, including 3-for-19 (16 percent) from 3-point range, and committed 20 turnovers. The Sooners also turned it over a season-worst 20 times.

Oklahoma got out to a 12-2 start but then let Morehead State linger with 12 first-half turnovers, including bad lob passes intended for Griffin on back-to-back possessions.

Buchanan got the Eagles back within 26-20 when he grabbed an offensive rebound and hit a jumper with just under 3 minutes left in the first half.

The Sooners led 32-22 at halftime.
