Sooners Roll Cameron 94-39
As he had in Oklahoma's exhibition win on Wednesday, Griffin paced the Sooners early. The AP preseason first-team All-America selection finished the first stanza with 11 points and eight rebounds - two points shy of Cameron's entire first-half scoring effort. OU led 51-13 at the half after shooting .528 (19-of-36). The Sooners limited Cameron to just four first-half field goals, as the Aggies shot .174 (4-of-23). With his 17 points, Griffin finished the exhibition schedule with 39 points on 16-of-16 shooting, 22 rebounds, 10 assists and five blocks in 51 minutes of action. Sophomore guard Cade Davis reached double digits for the second consecutive exhibition contest with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Davis was 4-of-7 from 3-point distance for the second consecutive game (his season high in makes from long range last season was three). Guard Dave Smith scored 11 points (all in the second half) to lead the Aggies, a Division II program from Lawton, Okla., that competes in the Lone Star Conference. The Sooners dished out 23 assists on 37 made baskets while their defense forced 23 Cameron turnovers. |
