NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Romero Osby scored a career-high 24 points and Oklahoma held off Texas A&M for a 65-62 win Saturday in a preview of the first round of next week's Big 12 tournament.

The Sooners (15-15, 5-13 Big 12) led by as many as 14 early in the second half before A&M rallied and had a chance to take the lead in the final minute.

Khris Middleton missed a jumper that would have put the Aggies (13-17, 4-14) ahead with 53 seconds left. Elston Turner missed a potential tying 3-pointer from the right wing at the buzzer.
 
Andrew Fitzgerald added 10 points and seven rebounds for Oklahoma.

David Loubeau led Texas A&M with 15 points and Middleton scored 14.

Middleton followed Osby's layup with a driving layup of his own to get the deficit down to 63-62, and the Aggies were then able to knock the ball away from Steven Pledger and out of bounds with 9.8 seconds left. The officials disagreed on who touched it last and awarded the ball to Oklahoma based on the possession arrow.

Sam Grooms was fouled on the inbounds pass and hit both of his free throws in a one-and-one situation.

Dash Harris brought the ball up for Texas A&M, and Turner could only get off a deep 3-pointer from the right wing to try to force overtime.

Both teams came in having lost eight of their previous nine games and were already assured of facing each other again on Wednesday in the first round of the Big 12 tournament.

Loubeau led the Aggies back after they'd given up a run by Oklahoma to start the second half. He had seven points, including a three-point play, during a 16-6 run, and Turner's steal and fast-break layup cut the deficit to 51-47 with 9:24 to play.

Middleton's jumper and Loubeau's spinning layup on back-to-back possessions got A&M within 61-60, and the Aggies had a chance to go up for the first time in the second half when Middleton attempted his jumper from the right side.
 
Texas A&M fell to 2-17 this season when allowing at least 60 points.

Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger squeezed in some first-half minutes for seldom-used senior reserves T.J. Franklin and Barry Honore in their final home game at the Lloyd Noble Center. Fellow senior C.J. Washington had a putback early in a 13-5 run that propelled the Sooners to a 33-26 halftime lead, on the strength of 10 second-chance points.

Osby had three buckets during a 12-2 run early in the second half for the Sooners, doubling the halftime lead to 45-31 after Grooms' two free throws with 15:52 remaining.

Oklahoma's second-half struggles continued, though. It was the 13th straight game the Sooners were outscored after halftime, but they had just enough of a cushion to hold on.
