Postgame Notes

Oklahoma 83, Northwestern State 63

• Oklahoma improved to 7-0 at home this year and finished its non-conference season with a 10-2 record thanks to an 83-63 win over Northwestern State.  OU has won 34 consecutive non-conference home games and 92 of its last 94.

• OU shot .564 from the field, .600 (3-for-5) from 3-point range and .818 (18-for-22) from the free throw line.  It held Northwestern State to .367 field goal and .250 (6-for-24) 3-point shooting.

• Oklahoma posted a 38-30 rebounding advantage.  It has outrebounded its opponent 11 times in 12 games and now boasts a Big 12-best +10.4 margin on the year.

• Junior forward Romero Osby scored a career-high 18 points on 8-for-13 shooting and added five rebounds and two blocked shots.  This marked the first time this season Osby did not record an offensive rebound.  He entered the game leading the Big 12 with his 3.5 offensive boards per contest.

• Junior guard Steven Pledger was 6-for-11 from the field and 3-for-5 from behind the arc en route to an 18-point performance.  He also handed out five assists (one shy of his career high).  Pledger has scored in double figures in all 11 of his games this year and has made at least three treys nine times.  It was the eighth time he shot at least .500 from the field.  Pledger is averaging 18.8 points per game on .550 field goal and .484 (31-for-64) 3-point shooting on the year.

• With 14 points, junior forward Andrew Fitzgerald has scored at least 13 points in each of OU's last five home games.  He has scored in double figures in each of the last seven games and is averaging 15.0 points during the stretch on .529 shooting.  He was 5-for-9 from the field today and went 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

• Junior point guard Sam Grooms scored in double figures for just the fourth time this year.  He was 5-for-7 from the field and finished with 11 points (one shy of his career high) and four assists in 23 minutes.

• Sophomore guard Cameron Clark netted just four points but pulled down a team-high nine rebounds, the second most of his career.

• Senior forward C.J. Washington came off the bench to supply eight points, five rebounds and team highs of three blocks and three steals in only 14 minutes.  He leads the team with his 15.6 rebounds per 40 minutes.

• OU has scored at least 75 points eight times in its 12 games.  Last year, it reached the 75-point mark seven times in 32 outings.

• Today marked the fourth time in the last seven games the Sooners shot better than .500 from 3-point range.

• The Sooners came into the game averaging just 12.9 turnovers but committed a season-high 18 today.

• The Demons grabbed 13 offensive rebounds and outscored OU 17-9 in second-chance points.  

• The Sooners begin Big 12 Conference play on Tuesday at 13-0 Missouri.  The game will tip at 7 p.m. CT.
