Oklahoma Postgame Notes

OU 81, VCU 70

• Oklahoma (11-0) remained unbeaten with its 81-70 victory over VCU.  OU is off to its best start since the 1989-90 team began 12-0.

• The Sooners own a 52-12 All-College Classic record and have won 15 of their last 16 games in the event. With the win, OU picked up its 24th All-College Championship.

• OU recorded season highs in 3-point makes (10) and 3-point percentage (.625).

• Tony Crocker registered a career-high 26 points on 8-of-13 (.615) shooting, besting his previous personal best of 25 at Oklahoma State on March 5, 2007.

• Crocker reached double figures for the fourth consecutive contest after failing to score at least 10 points in six of the first seven.   Crocker’s game-high 26 points tonight were two more than the junior guard scored in the season’s first four contests combined.

• Crocker was 5-of-6 (.833) from 3-point range, marking his most makes from long range this season.  Crocker entered the contest 12-of-44 (.273) from behind the arc on the season.

• Crocker’s eight made field goals tied a career best, which he has now done on four occasions.

• Blake Griffin also reached double figures with 18 points and seven rebounds in 26 minutes. 

• Taylor Griffin recorded a game-high eight rebounds – one off of his season best (USC).

• Austin Johnson dished out six assists while committing just two turnovers.  It was the fifth time this season the Amarillo, Texas, native has recorded at least six handouts. 

• VCU’s 11-point defeat was its worst loss since dropping a 79-63 decision to Old Dominion on Feb. 10, 2007.

• Bradford Burgess’ 15 points for VCU marked a career high.

• VCU’s Eric Maynor was limited to 15 points after entering the contest averaging 24.4 on the year.  The CAA Preseason Player of the Year committed a game-high eight turnovers while dishing out three assists.
