Postgame Notes

Oklahoma 79, Houston 74

• Oklahoma won its fourth straight game and improved to 8-1 on the year with a 79-74 win over Houston in the All-College Classic in Oklahoma City.

• Junior guard Steven Pledger recorded his first career double-double with 31 points (second highest career total) and a career-high 10 rebounds.

• Pledger's 31 points were his most ever in regulation. His career-high 38-point total at Iowa State last year included 12 points that came in overtime.

• Pledger entered the week ranked No. 2 nationally among guards in field goal percentage at .577 and entered the day ranked No. 5 in the Big 12 in 3-point field goal percentage (.472). He went 10-for-13 from the floor tonight and 4-for-5 from behind the arc to increase his season marks to .604 and .512, respectively.

• Pledger also went 7-for-7 at the free throw line and is shooting .833 from the stripe on the year.

• After not scoring last game vs. Arkansas, sophomore guard Cameron Clark responded with 14 points on 6-for-11 shooting tonight.

• Junior point guard Sam Grooms finished with 10 points and eight rebounds without committing a turnover. His 38 minutes were the most played by a Sooner this season.

• Junior forward Romero Osby scored just five points but tied a career high with 10 rebounds (five offensive). He leads the Big 12 with his 3.6 offensive boards per game.

• OU outrebounded its opponent for the eighth time in nine games this season. It won the board battle 40-37 tonight.

• The Sooners' nine turnovers were their fewest of the season (Houston committed 13). OU racked up 17 points off turnovers to the Cougars' 10.

• One game after scoring a career-high 18 points, sophomore forward Tyler Neal netted nine tonight and added six rebounds.  His 4-for-5 free throw performance included his first miss of the season (now 16-for-17).

• Oklahoma snapped a two-game All-College Classic losing streak and improved to 51-11 in the event. Head coach Lon Kruger is now 3-0 in the All-College Classic (he led Florida to the 1995 title with wins over Louisiana Tech and OU).
