NORMAN, Okla. -- The OU baseball team concluded team practices in the fall during the second week of November with the annual Red/White Series.
In preparation for the 2010 season, SoonerSports.com will help fans get to know the numerous new faces around the diamond at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
Throughout the three months leading up to the season, SoonerSports.com will feature one of the Sooners' 19 newcomers that will join a group of 17 letterwinners from the 2009 team that hosted the Norman Regional with the No. 7 national seed.
Each spotlight will include an updated bio, Q&A session and videos of each player in action from the Red/White Series and a scouting report from OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway.
The seventh installment focuses on freshman left-handed pitcher Ryan Gibson, who was named a high school All-American last year by Collegiate Baseball. In 2009, Gibson struck out 113 batters and recorded seven wins and a 0.70 ERA in 64.2 innings.
