NORMAN, Okla. -- The long ball gave the Red Team another victory on Friday in game four of the annual Red/White Series.  Freshmen Drew Harrison and Jack Mayfield hit solo home runs and senior Jason Chowning threw four innings of shutout baseball as Red recorded a 3-0 win at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

The series lead is 3-1 for the Red Team as the series finale is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday in Norman.  Red will start senior J.R. Robinson on the mound opposite White junior Zach Neal.  The two met in game one and Neal came away with the victory after five strong innings.

On Friday, Mayfield started the scoring with a solo shot to dead center field in the fourth inning.  Cale Ellis increased the lead to 2-0 after a RBI double later in the frame.

That was all Chowning would need to record the victory as did not allow a run or a hit in four innings.  The senior also struck out three batters and was relieved by Brandon Bargas (three strikeouts in three innings,) and Drew Krittenbrink (three strikeouts in two innings).

In the bottom of the sixth, Harrisson gave Red a 3-0 lead with his second round tripper of the series.

"It was a tremenous pitching effort by Chowning, Bargas and Krittenbrink today," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway.  "Today was another example of the newcomers displaying their ability.  Harrison has been a force at the plate this entire fall."

Harrison, a freshman from Waxahachie, Texas, has two homers and seven RBIs in the first four games of the series.

For the White Team, Ryan Gibson suffered the loss with two runs allowed while Danny Black and Cameron Seitzer finished 1-for-3 at the plate.  Garrett Buechele also had a hit in the defeat.
