NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma baseball team announced the rosters and first pitch for game one of the annual Red-White Series on Friday.
The best-of-five series gets underway on Monday, Oct. 24 at L. Dale Mitchell Park at 2:30 p.m. Game one and all the contests in the five-game set are free and open to the public.
The first pitching matchup will feature a pair of left handers in junior Steven Okert (Red) and sophomore Dillon Overton (White).
Overton, a 2011 freshman All-American and 2010 draft pick of the Boston Red Sox, started game two of last year's Red-White Series and helped the white team even the series with one earned run allowed across four innings.
Okert is one of the 23 newcomers on the fall roster. The junior hurler has been drafted twice in his career by the Milwaukee Brewers and is part of the recruiting class that was ranked No. 4 in the nation by Collegiate Baseball and No. 13 by Baseball America. Okert is one of seven newcomers to be drafted prior to the arrival in Norman, including five hurlers.
