NORMAN, Okla. -- The 2010 University of Oklahoma baseball alumni weekend is slated for Oct. 15-17 in Norman. The three-day event is planned around the Sooner football game versus Iowa State and also features a golf outing, taligate, home run derby and alumni game throughout the weekend.
In addition, the 2010 OU baseball team will be honored at halftime of the Iowa State game and receive its rings from the program's 10th College World Series appearance. The Sooners finished last year with a 50-16 record that culminated in Omaha, Neb., in the final year at historic Rosenblatt Stadium.
The baseball reunion kicks off on Friday, Oct. 15 with a lunch and golf outing held at Winter Creek Golf Course in Blanchard, Okla. The outing will begin at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start and lunch will be served prior at noon.
On Saturday, prior to the OU football game, a tailgate will be held at L. Dale Mitchell Park three hours prior to the game.
The weekend finishes in grand fashion with a home run derby at L. Dale Mitchell Park at 12:15 p.m. and an alumni game to follow at 1 p.m.
Sunday's action is free and open to the public.
"We are excited to bring together Sooners from all eras and celebrate the tradition of this program," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway. "The alumni game and home run derby should be a lot of fun for our fans and all involved."
