SUMMER COLLEGIATE LEAGUE
Cameron Seitzer produced a game-high two hits in the 2010 Cape Cod League All-Star Game as he helped lead the Western Division to a 5-0 win over the Eastern squad at Fenway Park in Boston on Wednesday. Seitzer has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games, including last night’s all-star game, and is second on the team with a .279 average and 16 RBIs.
Ryan Duke tossed 1 1/3 innings of hitless baseball in his last outing with Cotuitt on July 27 to get the save vs. the Wareham Gatemen, striking out three of the five batters he faced. The save was Duke’s second of the summer.
Cotuit Kettleers pitcher Bobby Shore collected his second straight win against on July 25 vs. The Brewster Whitecaps, striking out six in five innings of work. The right-hander has a 2.76 ERA with 11 strikeouts in three starts, all of which have lasted five or more innings.
OKLAHOMA IN THE MINORS
Former catcher Jackson Williams has been on a hot streak the past three games, hitting .454 with three RBI and one home run. In the last ten games, the Tulsa, Okla., native has an average of .294, with two home runs and seven RBI.
Promoted to the Inland Empire 66ers (Class A Adv.) on June 24, Will Savage is 4-2 in his last six games started with 29 strikeouts, an opposing batter average of .240 and an ERA of 3.73. Prior to the transaction, Savage pitched one scoreless inning with one strikout for the East All-Stars in the MidWest League (Class A) All-Star Game on June 22.
New to the minor league system, Jason Chowning has pitched well in relief with the Tri-City ValleyCats (Class A Short Season) claiming a 1-1 record with an ERA of 2.08 and 10 strikeouts.
OKLAHOMA IN THE MAJORS
Former third baseman Ryan Rohlinger was recently promoted the Majors with the San Francisco Giants. Rohlinger averaged .308, five home runs and 27 RBI with the Fresno Grizzlies (Class AAA). Rohlinger’s recent promotion with Giants is the second of the season, with the previous visit back in May.
