NORMAN, Okla. -- Throughout the summer, SoonerSports.com will bring fans weekly updates of current Sooners competing in the numerous summer baseball leagues around the country. Fans can also access information on former Sooners playing in Major League Baseball and its minor league affiliates.

SUMMER COLLEGIATE LEAGUE
Kennedy Winn is helping keep the Brazos Valley Bombers in the middle of the Texas Collegiate League race with a record of 17-19, placing them third in the standings. Winn has started seven out of eight games pitched and has recorded a 2-0 mark through 37 innings pitched with an ERA of 4.54 and 27 strikeouts.
On the West Coast, Jarrett Semler (Newport Beach Storm) has also produced a winning record going 2-1 through 19 innings pitched with an ERA of 5.21 and 10 strikeouts. He has also started in three out of six games pitched.

OKLAHOMA IN THE MINORS
Coming off a 10-game hot streak, Ryan Rohlinger (Fresno Grizzlies-AAA) is the highlight of the Sooners in the minors. Rohlinger is riding a seven-game hitting streak and has hit safely in eight of the last 10 games with three homers and 11 RBIs. During these last 10 games, Rohlinger has recorded a hitting percentage of .324.
Garrett Richards, a 2009 first round draft pick, made his Minor League debut on July 24, 2009 with the Orem Owlz (Class A). Richards has recorded two strikeouts in his two games spanning three innings.
SOONERS IN THE MAJORS
Russ Ortiz has made is presence known during the 2009 season and staged a comeback. After missing the 2008 season, Ortiz has rebounded to make 12 starts this year, the most since 2005. With 1,652 innings pitched total in his career, Ortiz, a 2003 All-Star, has posted an ERA of 4.44.
