NORMAN, Okla. --
The No. 11 Sooners are headed back to the NCAA Super Regional round. Bobby Shore led OU with 7 1/3 solid innings during a 3-2 victory in the NCAA Norman Regional Championship game over North Carolina on Sunday in front of 2,312 fans at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

OU has advanced to one NCAA Super Regional since the format originated in 1999 and the Sooners have won nine other regional/district titles, all College World Series appearances (1951, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1992, 1994 and 1995).

Cody Reine's RBI single in the seventh inning provided the difference for Oklahoma, which recorded one-run victories in all three games of the regional.

"I'm proud of our student-athletes," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway, who is 13-5 in one-run games this season and 62-24-1 at the Sooners' helm. "I'm proud of the guys who have played in our program that fought hard.

"This is a team that played really well and got to find victory in a regional here in Norman. I'm real excited for them."

The Sooners trailed during the first three innings but after tying the game up at two, Reine's infield single in the seventh provided the go-ahead score.

In the bottom of the second, Seth Baldwin's RBI single to right field plated the game's first run as North Carolina led 1-0 early.

Danny Black got offensive in the fourth inning with a bunt single that brought home Cameron Seitzer and after tying the game at one, he came back in the sixth to give OU a 2-1 lead on a double to right field.

Ryan Graepel knotted the game up at two runs apiece with his solo home run off Shore in the bottom of the sixth.

Oklahoma regained the one-run advantage on Reine's infield single and Jeremy Erben nailed down his fourth save of the year with a near spotless 1 2/3 innings.

Shore started strong and finished with 7 1/3 innings during a walk-free effort. He struck out six batters and allowed one earned off four hits en route to collecting Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Norman Regional. Shore leads OU with nine victories on the season.

"I found the zone," said Shore. "Other games when I was struggling, I couldn't throw strikes and I couldn't throw sliders for strikes. I just went out there and I found the zone. Like Coach Golloway said you have to go out there and be confident and have no fear. I took it to heart and found that back-door slider and I was just hitting my spots and making sure the ball was down and making them hit ground balls."

Black led OU with two of the team's 11 base knocks and was one of five Sooners named to the all-tournament team with Reine, Shore, Garrett Buechele and Tyler Ogle.

The Sooners will await the winner of the Charlottesville Regional between the nation's No. 5 seed, Virginia, and St. John's. That championship will be decided at 5 p.m. CT on Monday at Virginia.
