Sooner men compete in Arkansas/MSSU Dual

NORMAN, Okla.--The University of Oklahoma men’s cross country team heads to Fayetteville, Ark., Friday, for the 2008 Arkansas/Missouri Southern State Dual.

The Sooner men will take on the host team, University of Arkansas, and Missouri Southern State University at the Agri Park Cross Country Course in Fayetteville.

The men are led by junior Chris Sweeney, who led the Sooner men by finishing 12th at last week’s season opening Hurricane Festival, with a time of 21:19.

Newcomers Andres Gonzalez (21:23) and Cole Crosby (21:29) will look to improve on their 14th and 15th finishes in the Hurricane Festival, respectively, as Conner Wann, Aaron Gable and Scott Cooper round out the Sooner contingent.

The four-mile competition will begin at 7 p.m.

Last year’s individual champion was Arkansas’ Shawn Forest (19:29), Arkansas won the dual championship with 18 points.
