NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma men's track and field team will begin its 2013 campaign as the No. 24 team in the country with Tuesday's preseason release by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
OU is joined by fellow Big 12 members Texas (No. 3) and Kansas State (No. 22) in the top 25 poll.
Oklahoma's roster features five returning All-Americans in Frazer Legesse, Riley Masters, Tre Lathan, Kevin Schwab and Jamel Wood. Legesse, Masters and Wood were teammates on last year's indoor distance medley relay that finished sixth at the 2012 NCAA Championship meet and clocked the fourth-fastest time in program history.
Lethan picked up second-team All-American honors with his performance in the 110-meter hurdles, while Schwab was named a 2011 All-American in the Indoor 5,000 meter run.
The Sooners begin their season Saturday with the Nittany Lioin Challenge in University Park, Pa., and will host its first home meet of the indoor season on Saturday, Jan. 19 with the J.D. Martin Invitational.
