2006-2007 : (Indoor) Big 12 Indoor Champion in the shot put ... Won competition with a throw of 61-11.75 (18.89) ... Began his first collegiate indoor campaign with a victory in the shot put at 61-5.00 (18.72) at the Razorback Invitational (Jan. 19) ... Won the J.D. Martin Invitational (Feb. 3) at 61-0.75 (18.61) ... Finished fifth at the Tyson Invitational (Feb. 9) at 60-11.25 (18.57) and returned to Norman the next day to win the Oklahoma Christian Indoor (Feb. 10) at 61-10.00 ... Suffered an injury to his throwing hand during warmups at the NCAA Indoor Championships (March 10), but managed to finish 11th with a put of 59-9.00 (18.21). (Outdoor) Earned All-America honors with fifth-place finish in the shot put at the NCAA Outdoor Championships (June 9), putting a best of 62-9.50 (19.14)... 2005-2006: (Indoor) Did not compete due to participation in basketball. (Outdoor) Finished 12th at nationals in the shot put with a finals best of 60 feet, 7.25 inches (18.47 meters) ... Was fifth after the preliminaries after throwing a personal best 62-11.25 (19.18) ... Qualified for his third national championship with a fourth-place (best by a non-senior) at the Midwest Regional ... Threw 61-1.25 (18.62) ... Third place in the shot put at the Big 12 Championships (May 14) with a season-best throw of 61-3.00 (18.67) ... Finished outside a scoring position by three feet with a ninth-place in the discus throw (170-8) ... Opened the season throwing a regional qualifying mark of 57-9.00 (17.60) in the shot put ... Qualified for his second NCAA championship with a fourth-place throw of 60-6.75 at the Midwest Regional.
2003-2004: Redshirted after having surgery on shoulder during the basketball season.
2002-2003: (Indoor) Did not compete while starting for OU's Elite Eight basketball team. (Outdoor) Earned All-America honors in the shot put ... Finished eighth at NCAAs with a season best mark of 61-4.75 ... Won the shot put in his division of the Texas Relays after just four days of practice ... Won his first three shot put competitions before finishing fifth at Drake Relays ... Marked the first loss in his shot put career going back through his high school days ... Recorded an NCAA regional qualifying mark in the shot put in every competition he entered (seven) ... Opened competition in the discus at the John Jacobs Invitational, the first time he and older brother, Kyle, had competed against each other ... Named the Big 12 Male Track and Field Athlete of the Week on April 21 for his efforts at the Michael Johnson Classic ... Finished second in the shot put at the NCAA Midwest Regional ...
