Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the OU Cheer Squads is to support the athletic teams at the University of Oklahoma by generating crowd enthusiasm. The OU Cheerleaders also represent the University at a variety of alumni, civic, and charitable events. The University of Oklahoma Cheerleaders are representatives of the University and should display a positive and collegiate image at all times. The Cheer program is under the athletic department and is managed by the Spirit Coordinator. 
 
Squad Descriptions
The OU Coed Squad has historically consisted of anywhere from 10-14 coed couples. These numbers can fluctuate from year to year given the needs of the team. The Coed Team cheers at home and away football games, home men and women's basketball games, away women's basketball tournaments, home wrestling matches and home men's gymnastics meets.

The OU All-Girl Squad has historically consisted of anywhere from 20 - 27 athletes. These numbers can fluctuate from year to year given the needs of the team. The All-Girl team cheers at home football games, home volleyball games, home basketball games, away men's basketball tournaments, and home women's gymnastics meets.
