Tim Sullivan joined the Oklahoma coaching staff in 2011 as a volunteer coach working with the Sooners' pole vaulters. In his first two seasons in Norman, Sullivan has coached two All-Americans in Alexandra Acker (2012) and Sarah Pappas (2011). Acker also holds the Oklahoma program records in the indoor and outdoor pole vault.
Acker finished fifth at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships, earning her first All-America honor. She was the runner-up at the Big 12 outdoor meet and finished third in 2011. Pappas earned All-America honors in the pole vault after finishing eighth at the NCAA Championships in 2011. She took seventh in the event at the Big 12 indoor meet. Both qualified for the NCAA Preliminary in each of their two seasons at OU.
While at WVU, Sullivan coached five All-Big East pole vaulters and qualified two athletes for the NCAA East Regional. Sullivan also helped the WVU program to a third-place finish at the 2009 ECAC Championships, matching the team's second-best finish in program history which was also accomplished in 2006 with Sullivan on staff.
