Our student-athletes only have to look at those who
have come before to understand that at the University
of Oklahoma, mission statements are truly what dictate
our decisions; they are not just empty words on a banner.
Norman | Home of the Sooners
Money Magazine ranked Norman as the No. 6 best small city in
America in its annual list released July 14, 2008. With a population of 102,000, Norman was the only
Big 12 Conference city in the top 50. No location in
Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa or Nebraska
rated higher.

Graduate Assistants |
The Graduate Assistantship program was implemented "to provide leadership and service to enhance the quality of graduate education, research and creative activity." GAs are selected from a national pool of applicants to pursue their graduate degree will gaining valuable work experiences in the OU Athletics Department.
GAs in the OU Athletics Department are asked to work 30 hours per week during the academic year. On average, GAs are required to work 20 hours per week for a full year.
Interested candidates are enrolled in one of the University's master's programs. Most participants have chosen the Adult & Higher Education, Intercollegiate Athletics Administration Master's degree program. Candidates are selected based on their undergraduate experience, extracurricular activities, prior job and experience.
Applications are accepted February 1 through April 1 of the applicable year.
