Sooner Athletics: Tops in the Nation

National polls reflect OU Athletics Department's comprehensive success.
NORMAN, Okla. -- Have you noticed the recent trend in college athletics involving the Sooners? If there's a poll out there, OU is likely ranked at or near the top.
 
Look around the nation and you won't find an Athletics Department churning out success like that on display at Oklahoma. Men's Gymnastics is No. 1, both basketball teams are ranked No. 2 in the nation and football finished the season at No. 5. The list below details the current records and national rankings for the Sooners across all sports:

If you limit your comparison to football, men's and women's basketball, you will find only two schools ranked in the AP Top 25 across the board -- Oklahoma and Texas. Only three other schools currently have a chance to finish the year ranked in the top 25 in all three sports. That is, both their men's and women's basketball teams are at least receiving votes in the most recent AP polls.
