Rolling out the red carpet: we are going to show you and your team just how much we appreciate your attending the OU Spirit Camps by rolling out the red carpet! You will be greeted by the OU Spirit Squads and the inflatable Sooner Schooner that the football team runs through at the football games.
Special Features of OU Camps

Free Camp t-shirts

All classes held in the Huston Huffman Recreation Center (1/2 block from dorms).

Curriculum that teaches your squads/teams safety and better prepares you for the upcoming sports seasons and competitions.

Coaches get the best education and tips on how to be the best advisor/director/coach.

All OU Spirit Campers will be invited to a 2013 OU football game and perform at halftime with the Pride and the OU Spirit Squad.
Free Advisors/Directors

If your school/squad/team has not been to an OU Spirit camp before and brings at least eight (8) participants, then the resident advisor/director pays only the commuter fee of $75.

If your school/squad/team won a state title, or won any national competition, then deduct $3.00 from each student registration fee.

If you bring 20 or more* to the same camp, or two squads/teams (Jr. High & High School or JV & Varsity) from the same school, one (1) advisor/director is free.

If your school/squad has attended OU camps for five (5) consecutive years (2008-2012), then one advisor/director/coach is free.
* It does not apply if you register 21, but bring 18.

Camp Information |

The University of Oklahoma is located in Norman, Okla. The campus is reached by traveling east of I-35 on Lindsey Street approximately two miles. The residence halls can be reached by turning south onto Asp Avenue and traveling to a stop sign. A campus map will be included in your camp confirmation packet.
Advisors/Directors/Coaches
Every squad/team must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years of age. The adult must stay overnight in the residence hall with the squad/team. No one under the age of 21 will be allowed to act as an advisor/director and be responsible for the squad/team overnight. All adults accompanying the squad/team must show proof of a background check performed in the last year.
Check-In
You will be assigned a check-in time and residence hall in your camp confirmation packet.
Housing
All residence halls are air-conditioned, double occupancy and suite style. Two campers will be assigned to a room and four campers will share a bath. Advisors/directors will have a single room, but may share a bath. A room assignment form will be included in the camp confirmation packet. Please email this list to
pwhaley@ou.edu, or fax to (405) 325-4151, one week prior to camp. Damages to rooms will be charged to the persons occupying the rooms, but schools are ultimately responsible for student's actions.
Meals
All meals will be eaten in Couch Cafeteria which is adjacent to the residence halls. The cafeteria offers an all-you can-eat plan with a selection of entrees, a salad bar and sandwich bar. Your room key lanyard will be your meal ticket.
Athletics Trainers
OU Spirit Camps will provide athletic trainers who will be on duty at all times when camp is in session. They will stay in the residence hall and be available at all classes and sessions. Please contact the trainer in the event of an injury or illness.
Camp T-Shirt
All participants and advisors/directors will receive a FREE official OU Camp t-shirt as a way of saying thanks for attending OU camps. You will be able to order t-shirts from the room assignment form.
Medical Information
The University of Oklahoma's Goddard Health Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and available to the participants of the spirit camps. Any major illnesses or injury will be referred to Norman Regional Hospital. Participants will be responsible for paying their own medical expenses at the time treatment is received.
Release Form
Minor's Release & Acknowledgment must be signed by a parent or legal guardian of the camp participant. Please bring this form and all forms to camp.

The National Cheerleaders Association and the University of Oklahoma began a partnership in 1953 by offering cheerleader and drill-team camps on the OU campus. NCA is the oldest and the first cheerleading company. For information on NCA Camps and Competitions go to
