NORMAN – Oklahoma rower Louise Kuehster has been named to the Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District first team, the organization announced Thursday. Kuehster is one of eight Big 12 student-athletes that collected the honor.

The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District At-Large Teams are selected by CoSIDA and recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and academics. CoSIDA will announce the Academic All-America teams in June.

The honor is not the first academic accolade Kuehster has collected this season. Most recently, Kuehster was named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team and in 2018 the senior garnered the league’s highest academic honor, the Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award.

The recent OU graduate, who majored in chemical engineering-biotechnology, finished the year with a 4.00 cumulative grade point average. She is one of 58 NCAA Division I first-team all-district honorees with a perfect GPA.

As a senior, Kuehster has consistently rowed in the Sooners’ second varsity eight boat and has seen action in varsity four competion. The Castle Rock, Colo., native has helped the OU rowing team to a CRCA/US Rowing top-20 ranking in 2019 and participated in all five fall and spring regattas in 2018-19.
