Warren Earns Fifth Rookie Honor

NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma's Willie Warren earned his fifth Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week honor today following performances in road wins over Oklahoma State and Iowa State.
The 6-4, 207-pound freshman guard from Fort Worth, Texas, averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in an 89-81 win over the Cowboys and a 78-68 triumph over the Cyclones. He also committed just one turnover on the week.
Against Iowa State, Warren netted 29 points for his third highest total of the year. He was 9-for-18 from the field, 5-for-10 from behind the arc and 6-for-6 from the free throw line. He added a career-high six rebounds and a team-high four assists as OU improved to 7-0 in league play.
The accolade is the 10th Big 12 weekly honor this season for the Sooners. Blake Griffin has been named player of the week four times while Austin Johnson earned the honor two weeks ago.
On the season, Warren averages 15.5 points (ranks 11th in Big 12), 2.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists. He is shooting .505 from the field (fifth) and .778 from the foul line (10th). Warren is also shooting .394 from 3-point range (.490 over the last seven games).

Kansas State junior guard Denis Clemente was named this week's Big 12 Player of the Week after averaging 27.0 points and 5.0 assists in two wins.
The Sooners, who are tied with Utah State for the best record in the nation at 21-1, host Texas A&M on Wednesday at 8 p.m. CST and Colorado on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
