8:15 | We're at the under-4 timeout and OU is up 84-64. Taylor just got his 3rd foul. Flynn to the line. Syracuse has abandoned the zone because OU was milking possessions. The Sooners got two offensive rebounds on the last possession then a monster slam by Blake. He hit his head on the rim during the play.

Probably going to sign off for the night to get ready for post-game. Should the Sooners hold on, we'll be blogging Sunday and looking for your emails.

8:05 | We're at the under-8 timeout and OU leads 74-52. Breakaway by Blake results in a nice dunk.

The two teams are matching baskets right now. OU needs to gind some answers on defense. Then again, so does Syracuse.

A shout out to the OU softball team , which is on a bus tonight bound for Austin. The team is watching the basketball game on the internet.

They're watching Tony Crocker just flat go off to the tune of 28 points. He's made 6-of-8 treys.

Key stat? Points off turnovers now 30-12 in favor of OU.

7:57 | We're at the under 12 media timeout and Tony Crocker is white hot. He now has 26 points. The Sooners lead 62-39.

Taylor Griffin just picked up his second personal foul so the Orange will be at the line when we resume play.

OU is shooting 57% from the floor. The team shot 60.4% against Morgan State but obviously the competition is a bit stiffer tonight.

7:52 | We're at 13:02. Oklahoma leads 58-39 -- Syracuse is on a 10-5 run. OU called a 30-second timeout.

7:45 | Now it's a 14-3 run to start the half and Oklahoma is up 53-29 with 15:43 remaining. Syracuse finally hit a three -- by Flynn -- but Crocker has tossed in two more this half.

Crocker now has five 3's, but that's not his best total for the season. He dropped seven on Colorado on Feb. 7. He's got 20 points now, four shy of what he did against CU.

OU has all four rebounds this half and now owns a 22-16 advantage.

7:38 | Sooners open half on a 7-0 run to move the lead out to 46-26 and Syracuse takes a timeout. Crocker hit another three.

7:18 | It's halftime and on the strength of Tony Crocker's long three with five seconds left Oklahoma has a 39-26 lead. The Sooners closed the half on an 11-5 run over the last 2:40. Crock made a three on OU's first and last possession of the half.

Crocker had made just one of his last 15 three-point tries coming into this game, but has made 3-of-5 tonight and has 14 points at the half. That's his best total in the last eight games. He also had 14 at Texas on Feb. 21.

OU is shooting 51.9% from the field, Syracuse 35.5%. The Sooners have made 4-of-10 treys, while the Orange missed all 10. Oklahoma is 7-of-9 from the line, Syracuse 4-5.

The Sooners have the rebounding lead at 18-16. Turnovers are 10-9 with OU carrying the higher total.

Individually, Blake leads all scorers with 16. Flynn tops the Orange with 9.

Miscellaneous statistics: Point in the Paint -- SU 20, OU 18; Points off Turnovers -- OU 17, SU 8, Second Chance Points -- SU 7, OU 5; Fastbreak Points -- OU 8, SU 4.

OU is 25-1 when leading at halftime.

7:04 p.m. | We hear the weather has turned for the worse in Oklahoma. Not so in Memphis. We've had rain on and off, but for the most part it has been partly cloudy with highs in the 60's -- nice.

The Orange still have not converted a three-pointer, now 0-of-9. OU is 2-of-8.

Syracuse guard Jonny Flynn is as good as advertised. He just scored his eighth point of the game and will go to the free throw line after the timeout. Blake leads all scorers with 13.

OU is up 28-21 with 2:40 remaining.

6:58 p.m. | Syracuse takes a timeout at 5:13 to go in the first half -- we'll have another at the sub-4:00 mark, So far since the last media timeout, OU is on a 5-0 run on the strength of three Crocker free throws and a Taylor field goal.

Oklahoma has not turned it over during that time either.

6:54 p.m. | Sooners pretty steadily in a zone now. Syrcause has gone that way from the start. It was a quiet scoring period from the last media timeout to this one. Turnovers have become a problem for OU now -- that total has crept up to 9 and the Orange have climbed back to within one point. Oklahoma leads 18-17.

Syracuse has yet to hit a three -- missing all three attempts.

Oklahoma leads the rebounding battle 10-8, but five of the Orange's boards have come on the offensive end.

6:43 p.m. | First subs of the game for Oklahoma with Ryan Wright, Juan Patillo and Cade Davis coming into the game. Crocker, Blake and Taylor Griffin are out.

Sooners shooting 50% from the floor on 5-10, 1-3 outside the arch. OU winning the battle on the board, 7-3.

Wright, Blake and Willie Warren have OU's three team fouls. Blake already has seven points and three rebounds.

11:57 remaining in the first half and OU up 14-6.

Don't forget the send-off for the women's team Sunday at the Skirvin -- the send-off is planned for 7:30 p.m.

6:38 p.m. | Tony Crocker missed all six of his three-point tries in Kansas City, but hit the first one tonight. Then how about that block on the break-away! He swatted Devendorf's first attempt.

Paul Janssen is one of the officials. He is based out of Iowa and routinely officiates in the Big 12.

Sryacuse really emphacizing Arinze Onuaku in an attempt to get Blake in foul trouble. He's got one so far.

Sooners were all man until the 16-minute mark then showed zone for the first time.

Syracuse has four turnovers. The Orange are just 1-5 from the field.

8-2 OU at the first timeout.

6:05 p.m. | Greetings fans from the sidelines right behind the OU bench in the FedEX Forum here in Memphis. Both teams are out warming up at this time and the fans are trickling in. Oklahoma sold more tickets than any of the other three schools in this regional so we're expecting a good turnout of Sooner fans.

The team has been practicing both here at this arena, home of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies, and at Christian Brothers University.

Coach Capel took his team to the famous Rendezvous ribs, which is only a couple blocks from our hotel here, The Doubletree. We're also just two blocks from Beale Street and the arena.

Jim Nantz and Clark Kellogg have the call from here for CBS TV. On Westwood One radio its Kevin Harlan and P.J. Carlesimo.

Syracuse brings a record of 28-9 into this game and has won nine of its last 10. the only exception in that string was a 10-point loss to Louisville in the Big East Tournament. The Orange got here by virtue of a first-round win over Stephen F. Austin and Arizona State. OU downed Morgan State and Michigan. The Sooners are 29-5.

The burning question on this game of course centers around the Syracuse 2-3 zone and how the Sooners will attack to still get the ball inside to Blake Griffin. More later ... fire up those emails and let's get some conversation going tonight.
