NORMAN — The most comprehensive documentaries ever issued on the history of Sooner football and OU women's basketball head coach Sherri Coale's career are now available on iTunes, Sooner Sports TV announced Friday.
The digital release was made available to the public after the huge success and depleted stock of the history DVDs, which all premiered at the Warren Theatre in Moore, Okla., and also aired on Fox Sports Oklahoma.
"Much of the original DVD stock is gone and we needed to find another distribution outlet that matched the viewing habits of our fan base."
— Brandon Meier, Assistant AD
The "History of Oklahoma Football" DVD series' "Part II: Legacy of Winning" and "Part III: Dynasty of Championships" were produced and directed by Brandon Meier, assistant athletics director for broadcast operations, and Jacob Potter, director of programming and production for Sooner Sports TV in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
"Neath a Western Sky: From Healdton to the Hall," released in 2016, focuses on the stellar career of Coale and was produced and directed by Grant Wade, live event producer for Sooner Sports TV.
Fans can purchase the digital copies on iTunes for $9.99 each. In addition, all three will soon be available for sale on Google Play.
"We are always receiving calls from fans about where they can purchase the 'History of Oklahoma Football' documentaries," said Meier. "Much of the original DVD stock is gone and we needed to find another distribution outlet that better matched the viewing habits of our fan base."
