NORMAN – The Big 12 Conference unveiled its women’s basketball slate on Tuesday, completing Oklahoma’s 2018-19 schedule. The Sooners will open league play on Jan. 2 at Lloyd Noble Center against Texas Tech.

Head coach Sherri Coale’s squad will play its remaining eight home conference games Jan. 13 vs. West Virginia, Jan. 27 vs. Baylor, Feb. 2 vs. Texas, Feb. 10 vs. Kansas State, Feb. 13 vs. Kansas, Feb. 20 vs. Iowa State, Feb. 25 vs. Oklahoma State and March 2 vs. TCU.

OU will play its nine road conference games Jan. 5 at Kansas State, Jan. 9 at Texas, Jan. 19 at Iowa State, Jan. 22 at TCU, Jan. 30 at Kansas, Feb. 6 at Oklahoma State, Feb. 16 at Baylor, Feb. 23 at West Virginia and March 5 at Texas Tech.

The conference schedule features a full double-round robin format for the seventh consecutive season. Last year, the league sent four teams to the NCAA Tournament.

Oklahoma City and the Chesapeake Energy Arena will host the 2019 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, March 8-11 (Friday-Monday). This marks the four consecutive year and seventh time overall that the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship will be played in Oklahoma City.

The Sooners return 2018 Big 12 Freshman of the Year Shaina Pellington along with All-Big 12 selection Ana Llanusa from last year’s squad. Pellington averaged 13.1 points per game and ranked second nationally among Division I freshman with a .492 field goal percentage. Llanusa averaged 12.6 points per contest and hit 46 3-pointers during the 2017-18 season. Both players were also picked to the Big 12 All-Freshmen Team.

Oklahoma appeared in its 19th straight NCAA Tournament last season, a run that ranks as the fifth-longest active streak in Division I. OU is just one of nine Division I men’s or women’s basketball teams in the nation to make every NCAA Tournament since 2000.

Tip-off times and TV selections will be released at a later date.
