NORMAN - The University of Oklahoma men’s basketball team will hold its first official practice of the season on Monday, Oct. 2. The Sooners will hit the Lloyd Noble Center’s practice gym floor at 2 p.m.
As with previous seasons under head coach Lon Kruger, the Sooners’ practices are open to the public and fans are encouraged to attend and meet the team. In addition to Monday’s workout, the Sooners will practice Tuesday (2 p.m.), Wednesday (2 p.m.), Friday (2 p.m.) and Saturday (8 a.m.). Fans looking to attend should enter via the exterior stairwell on the east side of the Bob and Ann Coleman Men’s Basketball Center.
The Sooners were granted 10 offseason practices earlier this summer as part of preparation for a foreign tour to New Zealand and Australia. Oklahoma went 4-0 Down Under, scoring 119.0 points per game and winning by an average margin of 40 points.
OU opens the 2017-18 season with a home exhibition game against East Central on Nov. 8. The Sooners begin the regular season on Nov. 12 when they host Nebraska-Omaha. Season tickets are available by calling (800) 456-4668 or by visiting SoonerSports.com/tickets.
