NORMAN — At the end of the regular season, the Oklahoma women's gymnastics team in the No. 1 team in the nation. The Sooners, who picked up a 197.800-196.775 win at No. 17 California on Sunday, have now held the top spot for nine straight weeks.
OU's score bumped its program-record regional qualifying score to 198.000. LSU remained in second place this week with a 197.785 RQS, while UCLA moved into third with a 197.500. Florida sits No. 4 (197.495), and Utah stayed ranked fifth (197.355).
RQS is based on a team's six best regular season scores, three of which must be away. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. RQS scores are used to determine seeding for regional competition at six campus sites on April 1.

The Sooners remained No. 1 on three events this week, including bars (49.550), beam (49.520) and floor (49.605). OU also moved up a spot into a tie for second on vault (49.440).
In the individual rankings, eight Sooners continue to hold an NCAA-leading 18 top-25 rankings, including 11 within the top 10 and nine within the top five.
Senior Chayse Capps and freshman Maggie Nichols are ranked on all four events and in the all-around for the fourth straight week. The two share first place on beam with a RQS of 9.995, while Nichols also holds first in the all-around (39.785) and on floor (9.965).
Additionally, Nichols is tied for fourth on vault (9.935) and second on bars (9.955). Capps checks in third in the all-around (39.600), tied for 20th on vault (9.885), tied for 16th on bars (9.895) and eighth on floor (9.935).
Junior AJ Jackson and sophomore Brenna Dowell are both ranked on vault and floor. Jackson is tied for 13th on vault (9.900) and holds second on floor (9.960), while Dowell is tied for fourth on vault (9.935) and 15th on floor (9.910).
On bars, senior McKenzie Wofford is tied for sixth place with a 9.925 RQS, while sophomore Nicole Lehrmann (11th, 9.910) and junior Stefani Catour (T-13th, 9.900) are also ranked on the event. Junior Natalie Brown claims a share of 16th place on beam with a RQS of 9.905.
This weekend, postseason competition begins for Oklahoma as it heads to the Big 12 Championship, scheduled for 4 p.m. CT on Saturday inside Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas.
The Sooners will be in pursuit of their sixth straight conference championship and ninth under Kindler. The meet, which will pit OU against No. 8 Denver, No. 22 West Virginia and Iowa State, will air through FloGymnastics (subscription required).
