Nicki Moore

Nicki Moore, Ph.D., senior associate athletics director, directs student life and athletics strategic planning and continues in her role as Senior Woman Administrator for OU Athletics. During her tenure directing the department's academic program, student-athletes attained their highest cumulative GPA in OU history and achieved increases in graduation rates, Academic Progress Rates and service to the community.
 
Dr. Moore previously served OU as assistant athletics director for psychological resources and strategic planning from 2007-2010 and was the director of OU's psychological resources for student-athletes program from 2004-2007. Dr. Moore is a licensed psychologist and earned her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Missouri where she was a middle distance runner as a track and field student-athlete and four-time team captain.
 
She is currently responsible for the oversight of the athletics student life area, as well as the strength and conditioning, sports nutrition and sports medicine programs. Dr. Moore serves as sport administrator for OU’s soccer and cross-country team, as well as track and field. In addition to directing strategic planning for the department, she serves on the NCAA Institutional Performance Program Committee.

Dr. Moore is a licensed psychologist and AASP-Certified sport psychology consultant, owning more than 14 years of experience working with teams and individual athletes representing a wide range of sports, ages and competitive intensity. She has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels, is a regular participant at national and international professional conferences and has contributed to numerous publications. Her research interests include student-athlete development, team development, motivation and alcohol education for student-athletes.

 

"Dr. Nicki Moore has consistently welcomed new and challenging responsibilities, so her ascent to this new position of serving our student-athletes and coaches was somewhat predictable when the opportunity developed," said OU vice president for intercollegiate athletics programs and director of athletics Joe Castiglione.

"I'm fortunate in that I have known Nicki since her days as an outstanding student-athlete and have witnessed her special skills to lead, inspire, solve problems and organize people to get things done. She will be a great fit for this new role and we're excited to have her passion and tenacity on our senior leadership team."

Dr. Moore and her husband, Bill Moore, Ed.D, have three adult sons, Brennan, Tyler and Cullen - and son, Ian.
