FULLERTON, Calif. -- No. 1 Oklahoma scored seven runs over the first two innings and cruised to a 9-0, five-inning victory over Pacific in the opening game at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif.

In improving to 23-1 on the year, Oklahoma scored its nine runs on seven hits and two errors by the Tigers. Conversely, Pacific (14-12) managed just one hit off OU starter Keilani Ricketts.

Oklahoma used a pair of two-run home runs in the first inning to open the scoring.

Sophomore Lauren Chamberlain led off the game with a four-pitch walk and stole second. Two batters later, fellow sophomore Shelby Pendley continued her hot streak with a two-run shot to left field. It was her eighth of the year and her fifth in the last five games.

Senior Jessica Shults kept the inning alive with a two-out walk. That was followed by junior Brittany Williams turning on a pitch and hitting her fourth home run of the season to stake the Sooners to a 4-0 lead.

OU batted around in the second inning, scoring three more runs.

Junior Destinee Martinez and senior Brianna Turang each hit singles up the middle to start the frame. Chamberlain walked to load the bases before Pendley grounded out to second to score Martinez and move the runners up.

With Turang and Chamberlain in scoring position, Ricketts singled past a diving second baseman to put the Sooners up 7-0.

After a scoreless third, Oklahoma put the run rule into effect in the fourth.

Freshman Erin Miller, running for Ricketts, stood on first with two outs. Williams then grounded to second, but Miller was able to throw to the second base bag to keep the inning going. After Paris Townsend was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Martinez singled to center field to score Miller.

A fielding error by Pacific shortstop Melanie Habib on a ball hit by Turang then enabled Williams to score the game's final run.

Ricketts got the win to improve to 12-0 on the season. She allowed a lone single to the game's second batter and also walked two while picking up her seventh double-digit strikeout game of the year by fanning 10 Pacific batters.

The win was also the 110th of Ricketts' career, tying her with Nebraska's Jenny Voss for the third-most in Big 12 history.
