NORMAN, Okla. - The Sooners return to Norman to begin a seven-game home stand at L. Dale Mitchell Park.  That stretch begins with North Dakota State on Tuesday at 3 p.m. 

The Sooners and Bison return to action on Wednesday for a doubleheader that begins at 1 p.m.  The second game of the day will immediately follow the completion of game one.

All three games against the Bison can be heard live on the internet, via Oklahoma All-Access on, with Chuck Kelly calling the play-by-play and DeWayne Vaughn providing the color analysis.  Pre-game coverage begins 15 minutes prior to the first pitch.

The Oklahoma baseball team's scheduled doubleheader at home against North Dakota State on Wednesday, March 5 has been moved to a 1 p.m. start for game one.  The second game of the day will immediately follow the completion of game one.  The doubleheader was originally slated for a 3 p.m. start.

Ryan Duke (RHP) will start Tuesday's opener vs. the Bison at 3 p.m.  Duke is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA in his three appearances this season, including one start.  The freshman has allowed three runs and six hits in six innings of work with two strikeouts and two walks. 

In game one on Wednesday, C.J. Blue (LHP) will take the mound.  Blue, a junior college transfer from Grayson County College, will also be making his second start of the year and third appearance overal.  He is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA in fiv innings pitched.  Blue has allowed one earned run off five hits and no walks.  He has two stirkeouts.

NDSU has not announced a rotation, in what will be its 2008 season opener on Tuesday.

Freshman right-handed pitcher Michael Rocha was honored by the Big 12 Conference on Monday after he led OU to a 2-0 victory over Tennessee in the Houston College Classic over the weekend. 

Rocha was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, for games played from Feb. 25 through March 2, in voting done by a panel of media covering the conference. Oklahoma State's Rebel Ridling was named the Player of the Week.

Rocha, a true freshman, made his second straight weekend start on March 2 at Minute Maid Park and baffled the Volunteers with two hits allowed and seven strikeouts in eight innings pitched.  The Buda, Texas, native earned the win after he retired the first 12 batters he faced in the game.  The hurler finished the afternoon after facing just three batters over the minimum and was named to the all-tournament team along with teammate Mike Gosse. 

Oklahoma (5-2) finished last week with a 4-1 record after sweeping Arkansas Pine Bluff at home in a two-game, mid week series and a 2-1 record at the Houston College Classic played at Minute Maid Park.  OU opened the tournament with a 7-2 loss to No. 9 Rice on Friday.  The Sooners followed that loss with an 8-5 win over Houston on Saturday and a 2-0 victory on Sunday over Tennessee.

The Sooners have won five of their last six games since dropping the season opener to then-No. 1 UCLA ... OU's two losses this season have come to two top ten teams (No. 1 UCLA and No. 9 Rice).

Mike Gosse became the first Sooner to lead off a game with a homer on Saturday vs. Houston since Chuckie Caufield, who cleared the fence to begin the contest held on Feb. 28, 2006 against Wichita State in Norman ... Gosse also became the first Sooner to hit two homers in one game since Brandon Moss' game against Texas Tech on May 20, 2007.

The Sooners connected for four home runs on Saturday versus Houston, the last time OU hit four home runs in a game was on April 30, 2006 at Kansas.

Junior J.T. Wise has hit safely in the last four games with seven hits and six RBIs (double, triple and a home run).  Wise entered the week without an RBI but recorded six last week with a .389 batting average and .778 slugging percentage.  Wise was 3-for-4 on Sunday against Tennessee and had two RBIs against Houston on Saturday.  Wise also had a hit against Rice and connected for three RBIs on Wednesday against Arkansas Pine Bluff.

Wise currently leads the Sooners with 10 hits and ranks second on the team with a.357 batting average and six RBIs.

Tuesday's game is also the start of a seven-game home stand for the Sooners and a stretch that will see them play in Norman for 11 of the next 13 games.  OU will play those 13 games over a total of 14 days.

Following the series with North Dakota State, Oklahoma will host Western Illinois this weekend, starting with a 6:30 p.m. game on Friday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.  On Saturday, the Sooners and Leathernecks will play in a day/night doubleheader at noon and 6 p.m.  The teams will conclude the four-game set on Sunday at noon.

Fans that attend the OU men's basketball game on Saturday, and present their ticket afterwards at L. Dale Mitchell Park for the doubleheader against Western Illinois' will receive a $3 admission.
