The Trojans, under first year head coach Scott Norwood, are coming off a 2-1 series defeat against Valparaiso at home.  UALR was picked to finish 11th in the Sun Belt Conference after finishing 10th in 2008 with a 16-32 overall record (10-18 in conference play) in 2008.  The Trojans return  11 letterwinners from that squad.
The Trojans’ pitching staff owns a 4.19 ERA and will start Anthony Pryor (0-0,13.50) in game one and Alex Smith (0-0, 5.62) in game two.  Offensively, UALR is hitting .251 as a team with Landis Wilson leading the way with a .348 batting average with seven RBIs.

The Sooners and Trojans have met in 18 games, all played in Norman, over the years with OU owning a 16-2 advantage.  The two have not met since 2004, a 7-5 OU win, after beginning the series in 1986.   UALR’s two wins in the all-time series came in 1999 and 2002.
