OU - DBU SERIES
The Sooners lead the all-time series with the Patriots, 17-2.  OU and DBU met twice last season with one game played at Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas.  The Sooners won that meeting 9-7.  The teams met later in the year in Norman, which resulted in a 2-1 OU victory.  The Patriots two wins in the series have come in the last five meetings.

WINNING STREAK
The Sooners, winners of nine straight games, sit second the Big 12 standings after Sunday's action with a 12-2 overall record (.857).  OU trails Baylor (10-1) in first place. The winning streak is the longest since March 10, 2007, when OU recorded its 11th consecutive victory.

The Sooners have laced together streaks of 10 or more wins on 20 occasions since 1962, with the 24-game streak in 1975 still standing as the school record.

SOONERS BREAK INTO TOP 25
OU's nine-game winning streak was noticed around the country as evident in this week's polls.  The Sooners are ranked No. 25 in the Collegiate Baseball poll, marking the first time this season that they have appeared in the top 25.  The Sooners are also receiving votes in the USA Today/ESPN coaches' and NCBWA (media) polls.

FREEMAN NAMED A CANDIDATE FOR LOWE'S AWARD
OU senior Jarod Freeman was announced as one of 30 candidates for the 2008 Lowe's Senior Class Award for baseball on Tuesday.  Freeman's nomination marks the second consecutive year that a Sooner has appeared on the list.  In 2007, Aaron Ivey was a finalist for the award.

Presented annually to NCAA® Division I student-athletes in eight sports, the award focuses on the "Four C's" of classroom, character, community and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the award was launched in 2001 to honor the attributes of college basketball seniors who fulfill their entire athletic eligibility and pursue their degree. Since that time, Lowe's, an official corporate partner of the NCAA®, has expanded the award to include other NCAA sports including baseball.  Click here to read more.
