Jennifer Mavis enters her first season as a member of the Oklahoma soccer staff in 2014. Mavis joins the staff as the director of soccer operations. Her duties include oversight of camps and the Matt Potter Soccer Academy, community and alumni relations, recruiting correspondence, travel. She also works with other members of the Oklahoma staff on game day preparations, marketing and social media and compliance.
In addition to her duties at Oklahoma, Mavis currently serves as president of Legacy F.C., the soccer club she co-founded with other alumni of the Nevada soccer program. Mavis works with members of the club's board to set an annual budget, coaching contracts, uniform and equipment orders and more. She is also involved in the digital side of the club's efforts, coordinating training session breakdowns, marketing videos, web updates and more.
Prior to her arrival at OU, Mavis was also a coach on the Legacy F.C. staff. She served as the goalkeeper director and built curriculum for co-ed and youth goalkeepers. She helped develop goalkeeping coaches for the club's teams and coordinated the Goalkeeper Summer Academy. In 2013, she was named the Nevada Youth Soccer Girls Coach of the Year.
Mavis remains involved with goalkeeping and coaching efforts in the Nevada club scene. She works as a license instructor for the Nevada Youth Soccer Association, an assistant coach for Dynasty Goalkeeping camp and was a goalkeeper coach for the Nevada Olympic Development Program. She was also a coach and goalkeeper director Nevada Elite F.C. in Reno.
A 2008 graduate of the University of Nevada, Mavis was part of the women's soccer team for four years. She was a member of the 2006 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) championship team and part of the squad that made the university's first NCAA appearance in soccer. She also assisted at Nevada's summer camps for five seasons and served as a volunteer goalkeeper coach in 2008.
